I have written about “Quick Shine” by Holloway House more than once and because I don’t know of any product that gives such an instant shine with just 1 coat.  Now Holloway House recommends more than 1 coat, more like 3or 4 coats for durability.  But I have to tell you that I put on 1 coat about a year ago on a wood floor in my dining room and it still looks great.  Holloway House also makes a great cleaner called “No Bucket”.  The reason they call it “No Bucket” is that you don’t have to rinse it.  After you use the “Quick Shine” weekly cleaning is just a quick mop with the “No Bucket”.  Holloway House makes a easy to use mop with 2 pads.  One pad is for the “Quick Shine” and one for the “No Bucket”.   The mop heads are a micro fiber material and can be rinsed out up to 500 times.  Infact you can wash it in the washing machine up to 500 times.  (just don’t put them in the dryer)  Now “Quick Shine” has to used on a clean floor, that means no wax on the floor.  Holloway House makes a “Deep Cleaner” that will strip off old wax.  I am using it on commercial flooring that we have tried to clean with other cleaning supplies.  It took all the old wax off down to the tile.  You can use all the Holloway House products on tile, laminate, wood, stone, linoliem .  Now here are 3 products that will makes a old floor look good again.  Even the Happy Handy Man can do it!

Question:  The recipe for “Good For You” breakfast is so good.  Thank you and your wife for sharing it with all your readers.

Answer:  Glad you like it- usually something that is that good for you doesn’t taste that good.

Question:  I painted my front porch last year but the paint is peeling already.  The porch was cleaned beforehand and concrete paint was used.  With all the moisture in Houston the porch sweats during certain climate conditions and the white powder has come up cause the paint to peel in that area.  I am thinking about tiling – got any suggestions?

Answer:  Here is what I would suggest- first of all get the paint off the concrete with a product called “Soy Gel”.  Then you need to etch the concrete with a product called “Safe Solutions”, made by Super Deck.  “Super Deck” makes a deck stain called “Masons Select” and that’s what I would suggest to use on the concrete.  But first get a few concrete stepping stones and try practicing on a look for the porch.  And anyone that sells “Mason’s Select”  also gives away samples for you to try.  They also have litature to explain the different looks you can get with stain.  Now, for the white powder look that comes up – use the “Selig Rust Remover”  it removes lime also, and that’s what the white flaking is.

Question:  I have a septic tank and I want to know what product works the best to keep it working?

Answer:  Nothing works better that “One Flush”.  One packet once a month in the toilet will keep you system working better than ever.

Question:  Johnnie I would like to darken my kitchen cabinets.  They are just stock cabinets that a home builder put in that are a honey color.  Can you help?

Answer:  I am so glad you wrote to me before trying anything.  I have 2 products that I call miracle products.  One is called “Restore A Finish”.  This is the only product that I know of that will go through the varnish and stain the wood underneath.  It’s the perfect product for you.  No sanding – no revarnishing.  Take one cabinet and try the “Restore a Finish “ – it comes in 10 colors and all are blendable.  Once you decide on a color then put the color on with a soft cloth and wipe down all the cabinets.  Even the intensity of the stain is determine by you by pressing down on the rag.  Then after the stain is dry then use the companion product called “Feed and Wax”.  It’s a wax that will bring out the color of the cabinets and they will look brand new.  Great question!
