I don’t know how people keep coming up with new ideas that can make all jobs so much easier. I guess even small jobs like just hooking up your garden hose to the outside faucet even qualify for help. So here comes a new product called “Easy Slide” that can make connecting your garden hose to the faucet so easy. Nothing hard about it just slide it on and connect. You can even use it to connect hoses together. What I like about this Easy Slide is that is so easy for people with arthritis because you don’t have to turn, turn, turn to connect your hoses. The Easy Slide comes in 2 pieces and you connect one side to the faucet and then the other side to the hose- and then from now one just slip one side into the other to connect the hose. It’s a fast, easy, leak free connection. Hey anything that starts with fast and easy, well that works for me!

Now to the mailbag….

Question: I have a ring in my toilet where lime has built up and I can’t get any cleaner to get rid of it. What can I use?
Answer: There are two great products that can work together for heavy lime build up. One thing is called a Pumie Stick. It’s a 100% natural pumice and it’s safe for porcelain bowls and the environment. And of course it’s odor free. It comes with a handle so it’s easy to use. The other product is called Delete Germ and it smells like peppermint. You can put it directly into the bowl or you can put it in the over flow tube in the tank and let it work from the inside out. You will never get a ring in the bowl using Delete Germ every month. The nice part about Delete Germ is that it is a disinfectant. When Delete Germ was invented, it was made for hospitals to use to disinfect the bathroom. So I feel if it’s good enough for the hospitals it’s good enough for me. You can also use Delete Germ to clean off lime from shower doors; just don’t leave it on for long and rinse, rinse, and then rinse again.

Question: In Houston it is really hard to keep your white roof from turning black and I don’t want to get up on the roof. I know there must be a product that can hook up to a garden hose that will clean the roof. Someone came by, but they wanted way too much money to clean it.
Answer: I had always recommended a product called Jomax but you have to get on the roof. But now there really is a product you hook up to your garden hose that will spray up to 20 ft. It has no black lye, or phosphates and its called Spray and Forget. What’s nice about Spray and Forget is that you don’t have to rinse your roof after cleaning. It is a cleaner with Bio Blockers and that’s why you don’t have to rinse. It will remove moss, lichen, and algae stains on asphalt shingle roof.

Question: I have a clothes closet that I can’t seem to get rid of the dampness. I leave the door open but that doesn’t seem to help.
Answer: There is a product that has been around along time. I even had my gun in the Navy packed with it. Now it’s called Damp Out and it will take the moisture right out of the closet.

Question: What is the best sink, tub, and shower drain cleaner?
Answer: The main thing to remember is not to use a liquid acid product because when you pour it over the metal drains it will etch the metal and discolor it. Drain Out is a crystal drain cleaner clog remover and it doesn’t start working until the water hits it. Here is how to use it. Remove the standing water, pour 2 tablespoons of Drain Out, quickly add 1 cup of cold water, and after 15 minutes run cool water into the sink drain.
