Happy Handy Man - February 17, 2009 by Johnnie Chuoke I promised a new product each week for a few weeks and this week’s product is called Rapid Fix. It’s a dual adhesive glue that is part liquid and part powder. This product bonds in seconds and is so strong you can’t tear it apart. It will bond plastic, rubber, ceramic, copper, aluminum and steel. Rapid Fix Welding Powder is used to repair all types of holes, cracks and gaps. It will produce a strong weld seam to support the repair just like solder or weld joints. With Rapid Fix Dual Adhesive system you get high strength that bonds in seconds. Unlike super glues that dry out in the container Rapid Fix will not. It does bond instantly to to materials and dries crystal clear. Rapid Fix can also be drilled, sanded and painted. Does it sound like something you can use? When I was at the show the were demonstrating the product by cutting a tube apart and dropping a few drops of Rapid Fix on it and putting it back together – in 10 seconds you couldn’t pull it apart! Really! Now to the email…. Question: We have a front door that has a dark stain under the varnish and I don’t want to re-varnish. The door looks bad but I don’t want to do a lot of work. You talked about a product that you just wipe on to give the door new life. Can I use that and what is the name of the product? Question: My bathroom grout at one time was white. It went to grey, and now it’s black. It makes the whole bathroom look dirty. What is the easiest, fastest way to bring it back to that white color and is there a clear sealer I can spray to keep it white longer? Question: I have windows on the bottom floor that get hit by the sprinklers. There are no screens on the windows so they get real dirty and lime deposits. Is there anyway to clean these windows and will not leave streaks? Question: Hi Johnnie, love your article. I have a dishwasher that is leaving spots and not really cleaning well. I don’t want buy a new dishwasher. I know mine is old, but I don’t want to pull out the old one and go to the expense of a new one. I don’t care that it’s not the newest color; I just want it to clean. Got a question for Johnnie? Tune in to Johnnie's radio show Saturday mornings on KKYX from 11-12 or call (21) 341-1573.
